Come and Sing Day with Will Todd 1st October 2022

Some feedback from the workshop included:

“Will was engaging, enthusiastic and a very good teacher”.

“I loved the music – really unusual choral pieces and the workshop was fun and enjoyable to take part in”.

“The day was an uplifting experience learning and sharing beautiful music with such a talented composer and musician.

“I found Will to be a very inspiring vocal coach, and it was nice to be able to sing “My Lord has come” again as it has such a calming effect, but of course, it was equally as good having an insight to pieces like “Jazz Missa Brevis” and “All will be Well” being sang  in a spacious hall with excellent acoustics.”

“Brilliant workshop by Will Todd. He engaged and enthused the singers from start to finish. His music was a joy to sing especially the hauntingly beautiful All Will Be Well and My Lord has Come.  The acoustics in the fabulous Tung Auditorium enhanced the sound & the experience.”

We were thrilled to host a Singing Day with the renowned composer/conductor, Will Todd recently at the beginning of October 22.  Over 120 choristers joined us at The Tung Auditorium (Liverpool’s newest, state of the art performance venue) to sing some of Will’s unique and exciting choral jazz compositions.

A note from our director Keith:

“I write this message with the notes of Will Todd still ringing in my mind, earworms which will return and delight as we return to some of the repertoire which many of us sang under the directorship of one of England’s great living composers at the Tung Auditorium.  What an achievement for our choir to stage such an event, and congratulations to the team who coordinated it so well. We have such enthusiasm and dedication within our ranks, which says a lot about the thriving nature of our special choir.  Onwards and upwards now to our future concerts, most notably to ‘Messiah’ with great baroque solo specialists and a top-rate baroque orchestra. Spread the word!”

Many thanks to all who helped make the day such a success a few of whom are pictured below with Will Todd and Keith Orrell (LWC Musical Director).
